Abstract

The apparatus records the speed of milking graphically through low voltage electrical impulses. Each 0·2 lb milk entering the vacuum milk bucket is registered as an increment on the graph. All necessary data for the assessment and comparison of milking rates can be obtained from the milk-flow curves. The apparatus is portable, may be used in any bail, and may be fitted to any commercial milking plant, thus enabling recordings to be made of the milking rates of cows in commercial herds.
