A note on the effect of cutting on lucerne in wet soilExport / Share Bishop, H.G., Ludke, D.H. and Gramshaw, D. (1974) A note on the effect of cutting on lucerne in wet soil. Queensland Journal of Agricultural and Animal Sciences, 31 (2). pp. 171-174.
AbstractThis note reports the effect of various frequencies of cutting during an extended period of abnormally wet weather during January-February 1971 on persistence of lucerne plants 4 months later. Cutting during a period of hot wet weather in Jan.-Feb. 1971 killed many lucerne plants while uncut plants in the same plots were only slightly affected. 2 consecutive cuts at 3-week intervals caused the most serious damage.
