Abstract

The population of Cassia nemophila and C. artemisioides on a water redistribution scheme in the Cheepie district is tending to stabilize after an initial rapid spread and increase in density. Control of these plants through heavy stocking with sheep and by ploughing has not been achieved. Chemical sprays (2,4,5-T and combinations of picloram with 2,4,5-T
and 2-4-D) were found to be a reasonably effective means of killing species of Cassia, but at higher rates than research elsewhere indicated.
