Abstract

The absorption of Ca from CaCl2 sprays applied to tomato leaves and fruits, and its subsequent movement within the plant, were studied using 45Ca. Tomato leaves rapidly absorbed foliar-applied calcium but translocation of the element
away from the leaves was negligible. Repeated spraying failed to induce translocation.
