Abstract

This paper describes 2 cases of systemic infection by the deuteromycetes fungi Cladosporium cladosporioides, Scopulariopsis brumptii and Ochroconis humicola in the swim bladder of barramundi cod, C. altivelis, from Australia. Post-mortem examination revealed grossly distended swim bladder. The fungal mass filled almost the entire lumen of the swim bladder. The clinical signs were consistent with a physiological disturbance in buoyancy regulation.
