The fruit fly is the major pest commonly observed in mango in Indonesia. Hence, an effective and efficient fruit fly control technique is urgently required. This study aims to identify the effect of Area-Wide Management (AWM) techniques on fruit fly fluctuation population and severity damage on mango fruit. This present study was conducted in Indramayu and Cirebon District, West Java, Indonesia, from July 2019 to December 2020. A total of 115 ha mango plantation was used to implement AWM technique, consisting of combination techniques such as sanitation of felt down mango fruits, installation of Methyl Eugenol in wooden block shape, and spray protein bait during fruiting season. The result showed that implementation of AWM combination techniques significantly declined the fruit fly population in treated orchards, to less than 1 Flies per Trap per Day (FTD). In contrast, the population dynamic outside the orchard in form of a transect-line in four cardinal directions was still very high, with a higher flies number recorded in the farther location from the border. The treatments were also effective in suppressing mango fruit infested by fruit flies, which ranged from 0 – 1% only.
