A possible genetic linkage between high osmoregulation and partial resistance to crown rot was investigated by using lines that had been bred for high osmoregulation (or gene) from parents with low osmoregulation and varying crown rot resistances. Analysis of the incidence and severity of the disease showed no association with the presence or absence of the or gene.
