Abstract

Fertilizer trials were carried out during 1951-1954 on four soil types differing mainly in their potassium content. Four applications per annum were made into the base leaves of the
plants. Fruit quality determinations showed that potassium tends to increase both sugars and acids, whereas nitrogen has the reverse effect.
