Abstract

Records of 110 birds (14 species) and 4 flying foxes (1 species) involved in 124 collisions with aircraft at Townsville, Queensland, from April 1965 to September 1968 are presented. Tentative suggestions based on destruction of attractive foods are made for controlling major species concerned, notably the fork-tailed kite (Milvus migrans (Boddaert)).
