Abstract

The responses of adult females of P. operculella from the resistant and a susceptible strain to topical applications of DDT, DDD, endrin, dieldrin, isobenzan, gamma BHC (lindane) and azinphos-ethyl were compared. Females from the resistant strain showed slight resistance to gamma BHC and isobenzan, more resistance to DDT, DDD, endrin and dieldrin and no resistance to azinphos-ethyl, though there was greater heterogeneity in their response to this material than in previous tests.
