Article Link: https://doi.org/10.1071/APP9950015 AbstractInoculation of various aroids with Puccinia paullula f. sp, monsterae showed that most (59 out of 66) were immune. Monstera deliciosa, M. standleyana cv. Variegata, M. adansonii var. laniata, M. subpinnata, Epipremnum pinnatum (but not E. pinnatum cv. Aureum) and Typhonodorum lindleyanum are confirmed with various degrees of susceptibility, and Stenospennation sp. is newly reported as a moderately resistant host, No sori occurred on the adaxial surface of Stenospennation sp., which has only very sparse adaxial stomata. The significance of the results is discussed in relation to Grebelesky’s Rule and to the present botanical placings in the Araceae, particularly with regard to T. lindleyanum.
