(B.) torresiae Huxham & Hancock sp. n. is described from Boigu, Saibai and Dauan islands in Torres Strait and southern Papua New Guinea. Bactrocera (B.) nigrovittata Drew is newly recorded from Australia. All records are of male flies responding to chemical lures.
