Viability of seed of Brachiaria decumbens

Grof, B. (1968) Viability of seed of Brachiaria decumbens. Queensland Journal of Agricultural and Animal Sciences, 25 (3). pp. 149-152.

Results are reported which show that B. decumbens is functionally a fertile grass and that delayed germination of otherwise sound caryopses is due to an impermeable seed coat. Scarification with concentrated H2SO4 for 10.15 min significantly germination of the seed.
