Abstract

In 2 screening trials on tomatoes and potatoes in Central Queensland azinphos-methyl, isobenzan, carbaryl and endrin gave satisfactory control. BHC and diazinon gave good control in one trial but only fair control in the other. A dosage levels trial emphasized the phytotoxic effect of isobenzan on tomatoes and the need for thorough coverage with sprays to control an established population of P. operculella. DDT was ineffective against P. operculella in all trials.
