Abstract

Malathion, diazinon and fenchlorphos were tested as protectants against larvae of a DDT-lindane resistant strain of Phthorimaea operculella. Only malathion gave results which warranted further testing. Of the common insecticides tested, only malathion at >2% was considered a possible treatment against the DDT-resistant larvae of the potato tuber moth (P. operculella).
