Abstract

As a result of this study, 127 introductions are placed in ten groups based on reported chromosome number, time of flowering and periodicity of vegetative growth. Study of interbreeding behaviour showed that some 4x cultivars exhibit hybrid vigour and fertility depression, while 2x cultivars interbreed freely.
