Abstract

In investigations on the usefulness of Monistria discrepans (Wlk.) for the biological control of green turkey bush (Eremophila gilesii) in south-western Queensland, the grasshopper was found to be a poor prospect because of its obligate univoltine life-cycle, low reproductive rate, long mean generation time, poor dispersal ability, and mortality caused by non-specific natural enemies [see RAE/A 66, 647, 6013].
