Sanewski, Garth. DArT markers for root rot resistance in pineapple. Lead Agency: Department of Employment, Economic Development and Innovation (DEEDI).
Project Start: 1 February 2011
Project End:1 February 2014
The project aims to develop molecular markers capable of identifying genotypes resistant to the root rot organism, Phytophthora cinnamomi. This will be achieved by developing segregating populations of seedlings between and within susceptible and resistant genotypes, identifying the levels of resistance using an inoculated hydroponic culture approach and applying cutting edge DArT marker technology by identifying linkages between markers and disease resistance.
